MediaWorks is an Arts-in-Education program designed to integrate media arts with Common Core curriculum to create new pathways for student success.
Proctors is working with Ballston Spa High School and Schenectady High School to integrate media arts into English Language Arts curriculum. A professional media artist works with a team of teachers to develop and implement new learning pathways, based on Common Core standards and Project-Based Learning, to increase student engagement, attendance and success.
MediaWorks empowers young people to analyze, engage with and create media – developing their voices and expressing their perspectives. Students gain vital tools to access further education and career opportunities and avenues for rich civic engagement.

MediaWorks teaches the increasingly important concepts of media literacy to make sure students are well equipped to handle the constant barrage of media message thrown at them every day.
Integrating media into core curriculum subjects allows students to make their learning experience more authentic as well as gain real life skills in professional level media production.
Thanks to our wonderful supporters, we are able to provide students with the latest in media technology from state of the art computers to professional level software and equipment. With these essential media production tools students will be able to fully realize their creativity.
MediaWorks aims to create not just engaged learners, but active participants in this 21st century world. Critical thinking skills are absolutely essential to creating the next leaders and innovators.
